    Description

You're bidding on an antique military commission - Samuel King, as 1st Lieutenant in the 16th Company of Cavalry, New Hampshire Militia. Signed by the then-Governor of the state, Samuel Bell. Bell served four years as Governor, before serving 12 years in the U.S. Senate. I believe the Justice of the Peace signature at the bottom may be that of Henry Hubbard, who later served in the House of Representatives before succeeding Bell in the Senate and his own term as Governor. I haven't been able to locate much more info on Samuel King.
Document has some creasing which is original to the document with some small holes at the crease points. Also some soil in the crease lines and a bit of staining in the top half. Printed on watermarked laid paper. Overall presentable appearance. It's framed under glass in a simple frame - I would prefer to ship as such for protection, but will consider removing it for reduced ship cost upon request.
