Description

Presented is an antique, Georgian sterling silver centerpiece, fruit or serving bowl made in Dublin, Ireland in 1809. This early 19th century piece is done in a classic form with a thick, flared rim. The ends of the bowl are cast with large acanthus leaf decoration and the rim is hand engraved with design. One end has an engraving of a castle crest. This piece has a presentation on either side, as you can see in the photographs.
The foot rim is stamped with the crowned harp for Dublin, the Hibernia mark for sterling silver purity, a duty mark of King George III's head and a date letter N for the year 1809.
This piece is in great condition for its age. There are some tiny dings and some minor surface wear but no major damages and no repairs.
The bowl measures 15 by 8 1/2 inches and is 5 7/8 inches tall.
