Description
FINE ANTIQUE GEORGIAN STERLING SILVER REPOUSSE BOWL MADE IN 1828 BY RICHARD PIERCE AND GEORGE BURROWS IIFully hallmarked for London. The marks are nice and crisp and clear with the exception of the letter G which is rubbed a bit but all clearly readable. The repousse work is really nice, consisting of C scrolls and floral decoration.
There are two cartouches, one vacant and the other with a monogram in period script to MJG (I believe). The spreading foot sits square to a surface and there is no damage or repair anywhere. Condition is excellent.
A lovely bowl measuring about 5 5/8 inches (maximum diameter); the top diameter is 4 7/8 inches and the foot measures 3 5/8 inches. Weight is 280 grams, or 9 troy ounces.
