DUKE OF WELLINGTON. Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington (1769–1852) was a British soldier and statesman who earned immortality for his stunning defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo and who later served in the British government, including a brief tenure as Prime Minister.
A SIGNIFICANT LOCK OF THE DUKE OF WELLINGTON’S HAIR CUT ON THE VERY DAY OF HIS DEATH, DEFEATED NAPOLEON AT THE BATTLE OF WATERLOO
A significant lock of the Duke of Wellington’s hair cut on the very day of his death and encased inside a metal mourning locket that is engraved from the time period, “Duke of Wellington, Obt. 14 Sept. 1852.” The locket measures 0.75” in length and is in fine condition with only minor wearing.
