Georgian Doddington Yeomanry Jacket

Description

A very rare Georgian Doddington  Yeomanry Troop jacket. Scarlet melton cloth body with black velvet facings that are trimmed with silver wire braid. Complemented with 38 gilded brass buttons to the front which are engraved with “DYT”, a further two secure the chained shoulder wings and two to the rear skirt. Velvet cuffs show floral designed buttons. Right sleeve shows a velvet chevron. Lining of the jacket is a course cotton. A few areas of mothing, nothing too major. Velvet is fragile around the collar.
The Regiment was raised in 1803.
