Description

German Bavarian CR Kirshbaum M1845 Fusilier style short sword with scabbard. Sword cross-guard marked, "107.R.521". Sword knife measures 24.5" overall with a blade length of 18.75". Very good condition showing a brown age patina on the handle with brass peaking through., Blade shows age patina, wear, scratches, I count 6 tiny nicks/chips on the blade edge. Sword is tight with no looseness. cartouche on the ricasso area of blade marked, Crown over "J.R." obverse side has the "CR Kirshbaum" logo of the knight's head. Top of "S" guard shows a inverted Crown. Spine of handle near pommel shows the same crown cartouche. Scabbard shows leather with brass ends. Throat marked, "105.r.3.4." Leather intact showing cracking of paint with paint/leather surface loss. Top of handle underneath the guard shows a small crack in the brass, approx. 1/4".
