    Description

Handsome Towle Sterling Silver Old Colonial Style Pedestal Bowl Compote Dish
Presented is a superb Towle sterling silver pedestal bowl or compote, dating to
around the 1920s-1930s. Although this piece was made in the 20th century, it is
emulating a much older Colonial style. The bowl has a fluted, lobed design
(matched on the base) with beadwork decoration around the rim. Flanking the
shaft are two scrollwork flourishes with little rosettes at the center. Really a
striking and handsome piece, guaranteed to make an impression however it is
    displayed.
This piece is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no dents, no
    monogram removals, and no repairs.
The dish is stamped on the underside with the Towle maker's mark as well as
sterling, patent applied for, and “Reproduction of Old Colonial Style”
This piece stands about 8 1/4 inches tall and measures about 11 inches in
    diameter.
The dish weighs 749 grams or 26.4 regular ounces.
