Born 1796 in New Jersey.
He was a
watchmaker
jeweler
and
spectacle manufacturer.
Other than spoons
there are
no
examples of hollow ware
made by Moore.
Listed as Moore & Brewer
1824-1825.
Moore won a diploma for
"best specimen gold spectacles"
1836
American Institute Exhibition.
A pair of gold spectacles
by Moore
made exclusively for
General James I. Jones
in the
Museum of the City of New York.
Hallmarked as shown, Moore's earliest hallmark.
This rare c1835 Jared Moore silver footed bowl 8 inches tall and 6 1/4 wide
and weighs 25 standard ounces.
Later hand engraved 1874 dated initials.
In fine condition.
Interior clean as if little used.
Retains original detail.
Rich sterling patina throughout.
