    Description

    Baron Gaspard Gourgaud Aide-de-camp to the Emperor. During the Russian campaign he was A.D.C. to Napoleon. During the Hundred Days (1815) he was named general and Aide-de-camp by the Emperor and fought at Waterloo. He sailed on the HMS Northumberland with Napoleon to his exile at Saint Helena. In 1840, he joined other survivors to St. Helena to bring back Napoleon’s remains to Paris. 1-page letter dated November 1836, letter relating to the considerable reduction in military ammunition.
