    Description

    Description
Here is a nice rare 18th century British officer's gorget in good original condition. The copper and gold gilt surface has a nice patina from age with the engraved crowned initials "G.R." for King George III which can be seen in the photos. The copper surface is dark with traces of the original gold gilt which can also be seen in the photos. This was known as the universal pattern used my Marine, Infantry and Engineer officers during the wars of 1812 and the French revolutionary wars and Napoleonic wars. In total measuring 4.2 inches long and 3.2 inches wide. Originally from Edinburgh Scotland from a gentleman's collection
