    Description

Offering a set of Victorian advertising trade cards, custom designed for Singer Sewing Machine brand in 1892. The series featured places of the world and showing the treadle sewing machine being used to create local cultural garments of the era.
This set features two images of Italy with the country’s history (as told in 1892) on back. I love the expressions of the people in this places series and I understand why these became such a collectible craze in Victorian times.
These full color lithographic cards were printed by Ottmann of New York. These are in suitable for collector condition, however, with antique paper, buyer should expect condition to be commiserate, as shown in photographs.
