Space flown post card from Vatican to the International Space Station

The post card from Vatican
(the Papal Basilica of Saint Peter) was aboard the International Space Station in 2012.
First, the post card was sent from Vatican to Russian
cosmonaut Oleg Novitskij
’s home address in Star town (Zvyozdny gorodok – Russian cosmonaut training center) on 13 October 2012. At that day, cosmonaut Oleg Novitskij was already at Baykonur Cosmodrome for final preparation to his first space mission. He began his first space flight as Commander of the “Soyuz TMA-06M” spacecraft. The Vatican’s post card was delivered to Zvyozdny gorodok, Russia on 30 October 2012, when the addressee, cosmonaut Oleg Novitskij, had already been aboard the International Space Station. The card was handed over to the crew of the “Soyuz TMA-07M” spacecraft and was delivered to the ISS by the “Soyuz TMA-07M”.
Having been delivered to the ISS, the post card was marked with the following seals: the
“ISS”
octagonal board seal; the “
Russian Post. ISS. Russian Segment
” board post mark and the
“Russian Segment of International Space Station”
board souvenir seal both dated 21 December 2012, the day when the Russian
Soyuz TMA-07M
spacecraft
docked with the ISS.
An example of the personal correspondence sent from Vatican to the Space Station is a rather rare space mail item.
