These are very cool little pieces of 100+ year old commerce, advertising design and artwork history. The desirable and unique hand-drawn images, text and subject matter offer a glimpse of a time where color lithography became more
prevalent and
affordable
- and
before radio and
television would soon take over the product advertising landscape. In their day, trade cards were very popular and highly collected. Many store visits revolved around picking up a few cards.
Scrapbooking was also a very a popular and sometimes competitive hobby that included trade cards along with other victorian decorative images of the day.
Printed on thin card stock. Showing some signs of age
. Has a slight fold on upper right corner. The edges are sharp and the colors are vibrant. No tears or staining. 100% of the text can be read.
This measures 2 15/16" x 3 15/16"
All single trade cards are shipped in a protective sleeve inside a rigid mailer and shipped via USPS First Class mail with a tracking number.
