THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE OR VINTAGE HAMMERED STERLING SILVER BASKET OR FOOTED DISH WITH A HANDLE. IT IS MARKED " STERLING 202" THEN THERE IS A HALLMARK THAT LOOKS LIKE A BIRD. THE RIM IS 6 INCHES ACROSS. THE BASE IS
2 3/4 INCHES ACROSS FOOT TO FOOT. IT IS ABOUT 1 3/4 INCHES TALL WITH OUT THE HANDLE, IT IS ABOUT 5 INCHES TALL WITH THE HANDLE UP. I DID NOT POLISH IT RECENTLY BUT POLISHED IT IS A BEAUTIFUL PIECE!! IT IS HEAVY WEIGHING 169.9 GRAMS OR 5.47 TROY OUNCES. AT THE TIME OF THIS LISTING PURE SILVER IS ABOUT 32.00 AN OUNCE WHICH MAKES THIS WORTH ABOUT 160.00 IN SILVER VALUE ALONE!! I AM NOT SURE HOW OLD THIS ITEM IS, HOWEVER, I BELIEVE THIS TO BE WELL OVER RATHER OLD. THERE IS A MONOGRAM ON THE HANDLE THE SAYS " M.J..M ".
