VINTAGE SINGER MANUFACTURING COMPANY CARD COPYRIGHT 1892

Description

The front of this vintage card has a colorful picture of a woman sewing with a Singer Sewing Machine. Also on the front is HUNGARY AUSTRIA - HUNGARY COPYRIGHT 1892 BY THE SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. On the back is HUNGARY  A Country of Central Europe, forming part of the Austro - Hungarian Empire. It is bounded north by the Carpathian Mountains, East And South by Romania, south by Bosnia and Servia, Southwest by the Adriatic. The climate varies greatly, from the cold of the north to the warm vine and fig - raising region of the south. The first authentic inhabitants were the Pannonians, who were conquered in the 9th century by the Magyars, or Huns, Of Asiatic origin. They are the dominating race to - day and the Magyar the official language. The vine is cultivated very extensively, it’s Tokay Wine being famous the world over. The people show their Mongolian origin in their love for bright colors. This is a typical Hungarian woman of the middle class, in her embroidered highly - colored costume, seated at our Singer machine, which is extensively used in Hungary. THE SINGER MANUFACTURING CO.
