Description
The miniature portrait, which measures 3" high and 2 1/2" wide, contains the image of Lieutenant Alpha Kingsley of the 1st U.S. Regiment in the War of 1812. It shows Alpha with one epaulette, silver, and a black collar stock. His hair is in 1812-period style and he is a rather pleasant looking fellow. He is in a blue coat, faced with red, although the 200 years has faded the red to a rose color. But the details are still all there. On the back of the pendant is a glass opening with his initials on the glass and his hair woven under the glass. Kingsley was stationed on the western frontier during the War of 1812. He commanded a fort with around 30 men. This museum quality piece is rare because it shows an officer of the early republic. All sales final. No returns. No international shipping. Insurance with be included with the shipping charge.
